Spyker Lowers Saab’s 2011 Sales Target as Production Suspended

April 29 (Bloomberg) -- Spyker Cars NV said its Saab
Automobile brand will miss this year’s sales target because of a
production halt amid a pay dispute with suppliers.
Saab won’t be able to deliver 80,000 cars in 2011 as
planned because of a suspension of operations at its factory in
Trollhaettan, Sweden, that began March 29, Spyker said today in
a statement. Spyker reported a first-quarter net loss of 79.4
million euros ($118 million) compared with profit of
6.96 million euros a year earlier.
“It is unclear at this time what the consequences of the
recent production stoppages and funding issues will be for our
full-year 2011 forecast, but it is realistic to assume that
realizing our 80,000 cars sales forecast is no longer
feasible,” Victor Muller, chief executive officer of Zeewolde,
Netherlands-based Spyker, said in the statement. The company is
working on achieving financing solutions “very shortly.”
Saab suspended manufacturing after component makers stopped
deliveries and demanded payment. The Swedish unit is short of
cash after last year’s sales of 31,696 cars fell short of a
target range of 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles. Spyker, whose models
include the C8 Aileron supercar, bought Saab from Detroit-based
General Motors Co. in early 2010. The Dutch manufacturer
reiterated today that it will be unprofitable this year.
Spyker fell as much as 5.8 percent to 4.10 euros and was
down 2.7 percent as of 9:25 a.m. in Amsterdam trading. That
narrowed the stock’s gain this year to 21 percent.
General Motors said yesterday that it had tentatively
agreed to let Russian banker Vladimir Antonov invest in Saab.
The European companies are also discussing an investment deal
with Chinese carmakers, Spyker has said.

Короче в прошлом году была планка 50-60 тыс. авто. произвели только 31 тыс. В этом году поставили планку 80 тыс. авто, но поняли что не потянут. Об этом и речь. За первый квартал убыток составил 80 милл. Евро. Вообщем данные херовые. Все это говорит о том что приличную линейку плюс новые салоны сааб в россии, качественные услуги- все это мы увидим не скоро.
